Industrial Parts Manufacturing FAQ

What quality certifications and inspection reports do you provide?

Meco's quality management system is certified to IATF 16949:2016 (which incorporates all ISO 9001:2015 requirements). Depending on your drawing callouts, shipments include First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, Level 1–3 PPAP packages, CMM dimensional data, EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, heat-treatment/finish certifications and NDT reports.

What tolerances can you hold on industrial castings, forgings and CNC parts?

We hold ±0.005 mm (±0.0002 in.) on precision CNC-machined bores, shafts and sealing surfaces, verified on temperature-controlled CMMs. For die-cast, investment-cast and forged parts, we combine net-shape forming tolerances (ISO 8062) with secondary CNC machining on critical GD&T datums.

Can you support low-volume prototypes before building production tooling?

Yes. There is no minimum order quantity (MOQ) for CNC-machined, laser-cut or 3D-printed industrial prototypes. Once your design is validated for serial production via die casting, investment casting, forging or stamping, we build the hard tooling and you retain 100% ownership of all dies and molds.

Do you provide heat treatment, surface finishing and mechanical sub-assembly?

Yes. Meco delivers ready-to-install components by managing carburizing, induction hardening, nitriding, anodizing, zinc plating, e-coating and powder coating, followed by bearing press-fitting, hardware installation and hydrostatic pressure testing under one purchase order.

Where are your factories and how do you mitigate tariff and supply chain risk?

Meco operates IATF 16949-certified manufacturing facilities in Thailand (20,000 m²) and China (16,000 m²), supported by U.S. engineering teams and corporate headquarters in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Dual-country production gives OEM buyers tariff flexibility and redundant capacity.

How fast can we get a quote and DFM review?

Meco replies within 24 hours of receiving your 3D CAD files (STEP, IGES), 2D drawings with tolerances, material/finish callouts and estimated order volume. See our CNC machining cost guide for tips on optimizing part cost.
