When You Will Hear Back
Our North American office covers your business hours and our Asian factories cover the other half of the clock, so a file sent at the end of your day is usually reviewed overnight.
| Your Request | What You Get Back | Typical Timing |
|---|---|---|
| New RFQ with CAD | Price, process recommendation, and DFM notes | Under 24 hours |
| Sketch or sample only | Clarifying questions or a reverse-engineering plan | Under 24 hours |
| Technical or DFM review | Written engineering feedback on the geometry | With the quote |
| 3D printed prototypes | Finished parts shipped | 3 to 7 days |
| Injection mold tooling | T1 samples for approval | 2 to 8 weeks |
| NDA request | Signed agreement before any files change hands | Same business day |

Contact and Quoting FAQs
How quickly will Meco respond to a quote request?
Under 24 hours when the main project details are included. That reply is either a price or the specific questions blocking one, not an acknowledgement email. Requests that arrive with a 3D file, a quantity, and a target date are the ones that come back as a firm number first time.
What files do you need, and can I email them?
Yes, email works. STEP or IGES is ideal for quoting, and we also accept STL, DXF, PDF drawings, BOMs, and dimensioned sketches. If your files are too large for email, ask and we will send a secure upload link instead of you compressing anything.
Can we sign an NDA before I send my design?
Yes, and many customers do. Ask for an NDA in your first message and we will turn it around the same business day, before any files change hands. Meco provides IP protection as standard: your design, tooling, and documentation remain yours, and we do not produce your part for anyone else.
Do you quote single parts and small quantities?
Yes. There is no minimum order quantity, so one prototype is a valid order. We quote prototypes, bridge runs, pilot builds, and full production, and we will tell you honestly at which annual volume it makes sense to move from a printed or machined part to a molded one.
What if I do not know which manufacturing process I need?
That is the normal case. Send the geometry, the annual volume, and what the part has to survive. Because we run over 40 processes in house, we have no reason to push you toward one: the quote compares the realistic options and states the tooling cost, tolerance, and lead time for each.
Can Meco help with assembly, packaging, and logistics?
Yes. Manufacturing, finishing, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, retail packaging, warehousing, and delivery can all sit under one purchase order. See whole product manufacturing for how a full box build is managed.
Who do I contact about an order that is already running?
Your program contact in the Canada office, the same person who handled your quote. Include your PO number in the subject line and you will get an update the same business day. You are not routed to a general inbox or an overseas agent once production starts.
Do you supply quality documentation and certifications?
Yes. Meco is IATF 16949:2016 certified, the automotive quality standard built on all ISO 9001:2015 requirements, and we provide first article inspection reports, dimensional reports, material certificates, and full lot traceability. Tell us what your incoming inspection needs and we will confirm it in the quote.
Which regions do you serve?
We support customers across the United States, Canada, and Japan, with manufacturing in Thailand and China and warehousing in both Asia and North America. Sales and engineering are handled in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
