Sourcing

Turnkey or Consigned Box Build Assembly

Pick the model that fits your supply chain. Both are part of our contract assembly services.

Turnkey

Meco handles purchasing, parts, kitting, assembly, testing and delivery.

Best for: one point of contact for most of the BOM.

Consigned

You supply selected boards or parts. Meco integrates, inspects and assembles.

Best for: teams with approved suppliers in place.

Engineering Review

Catch Fit Problems Before Final Assembly

Parts that pass on their own can still clash in the box. We check:

  • PCB mounting points and enclosure clearances
  • Connector orientation, harness routing and strain relief
  • Fastener access, torque and serviceability
  • Assembly sequence, thermal space and test access

Any change goes through your drawing approval process. We never change a design without your sign-off.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in box build assembly services?

Installing populated PCBs, integrating a metal or plastic enclosure, connecting wire harnesses, programming approved firmware, final functional testing and packaging. The exact scope is documented in your project quotation.

How is box build assembly different from PCB assembly?

PCB assembly places components on a board. Box build installs that board in a housing and connects everything else it needs to operate, adding mechanical fit, cable routing, firmware and final functional checks.

Can Meco provide enclosures and wire harnesses?

Yes. Meco offers metal fabrication, CNC machining, injection molding and mechanical assembly, and wire harness integration is part of our box build scope. Enclosure and harness specifications are reviewed for each design before quoting.

Can Meco program firmware and carry out final functional testing?

Yes. Tell us the approved firmware release and what the finished unit must demonstrate. Test fixtures, methods, coverage and returned records are agreed for each project.

Can we supply our own PCBs or purchased components?

Yes. Under consigned assembly you provide selected boards or parts; under turnkey, Meco coordinates purchasing. The quotation defines responsibility for incoming inspection, substitutions, inventory and short or damaged parts.

What files are needed for a box build quotation?

A BOM, PCB information, enclosure drawings, harness details, assembly instructions, quantities and test requirements. An early concept is enough to start; we will identify what is missing.

Can Meco support prototypes before volume assembly?

Yes. Meco offers prototyping, design-for-manufacture input and pilot builds to check fit, work instructions and functional tests before a repeat run. Scope, schedule and approval criteria are agreed during engineering review.
