Aerospace Parts Manufacturing FAQ

Is Meco AS9100 certified?

No. Meco's quality management system is certified to IATF 16949:2016, a rigorous ISO 9001-based standard that enforces APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA and PFMEA controls. For commercial aviation, UAV and space programs that do not mandate AS9100 registration, Meco provides full AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), CMM data, NDT reports and serialized heat-lot traceability.

Do you accept ITAR or defense work?

No. Meco manufactures exclusively for commercial aviation, civil spacecraft, drone/UAV and non-defense aerospace programs. Please do not transmit ITAR-controlled or export-restricted technical data.

What quality documents ship with aerospace parts?

Depending on your drawing requirements, shipments include AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (Forms 1–3 with ballooned drawings), CMM dimensional reports, EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, heat-treatment and surface-finish certifications, NDT reports (ultrasonic, dye penetrant, X-ray) and serialized lot traceability.

Can you support both low-volume prototypes and production tooling?

Yes. There is no minimum order quantity for CNC-machined or 3D-printed aerospace prototypes. When your program scales to investment casting, die casting, forging or stamping, we build the production tooling and you retain 100% ownership of all dies and molds.

Where are your factories and how do you mitigate supply chain risk?

Meco operates IATF 16949-certified manufacturing facilities in Thailand (20,000 m²) and China (16,000 m²), backed by U.S. engineering support and corporate headquarters in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Dual-country production gives aerospace buyers tariff flexibility and redundant capacity.

How fast can we get a quote and DFM review?

Meco replies within 24 hours of receiving your 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, alloy/finish specifications and order quantity. See our CNC machining cost guide for tips on optimizing tolerances and part cost.
